 The diminution of the rhythm of the economic activity is reflected in an evident slowing down of the creation of employment in Spain. The numbers obtained with the Survey of Active Population of the National Institute of Statistics, one of the best indicators to follow the evolution of the labour market. This way in the first trimester of 2008 the variation of annual rate of employment decreased to 1,7 %, half less than in the same period of the previous year. According to this tendency, it is observed that the net creation of jobs continues, however in a very moderate and declining rhythm. The destruction of jobs in the sector of construction is notable. It presented a negative interannual variation for the first time in the last years.
